History

With SHAI now moving into our first decade of existence, it’s important to honour our heritage and where we began.

Founded in 2015

Sound Healing Association of Ireland was founded in 2015 for the accreditation of graduates of Ireland’s only comprehensive sound healing training school at the time.  The original SHAI website was http://soundhealingassociationofireland.com with an annual membership fee of €80.  The beautiful original color logo created for the  website was inspired by tuning forks.

Revived in 2017

By the year 2017 Sound Healing Assocation of Ireland was no longer accepting new memberships.   SHAI was handed over to a new Director, who established a committee and a new strategic plan.   A strategic plan which included many changes for the benefit of the industry, the public and our valued members.

Changes implemented soon after, as part of the new stragetic plan included:

• Greatly reduced annual membership fee of €59 first year and €49 renewal to encourage new membership growth
• A new shorter website address https://shai.ie
• A new website design complete with a searchable members and training providers directory
• Exhibitors stand at Dublin’s Mind Body Experience to promote sound healing to the wider community while helping SHAI members to promote their businesses.  As a result of this initiative, several members have gone on to establish their own presence at the Mind Body Experience.
• The biggest change introduced in 2017 was opening up memberships to include everyone, regardless of where they trained, along with opening up training provider memberships to include all training providers, as there was now several sound healing training providers established in Ireland.

Major Changes in 2022

The year 2022 saw the following changes:

• A new SHAI committee (due to resignation, after many years wonderful service)
• Implementation of a new Training Provider Code of Practice, an industry first
• New training providers welcomed by invitation, as part of our Kindness initiative
• New logos, including a unique logo for each member
• Print-ready membership e-Certificate emailed to members new and existing

Update for 2025

SHAI has now grown to become the official regulator and leading industry accreditation body in Ireland for therapeutic sound professionals, we are so proud of how much we have achieved for the recognition of sound healing and sound therapy in Ireland in the past decade.  We will continue our vision to evolve for the benefit of the industry, the public and our valued members.
